Associate Editor

Associate Editorial Director

We seek an Associate Editor who is responsible for managing and editing all print projects for The Weill Music Institute and The Academy. He/she is also responsible for monitoring the production and ensuring the editorial excellence of daily Playbill programs for approximately one-third of the CHC presentations in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, Zankel Hall and Weill Recital Hall. Support work on marketing pieces such as the subscription brochure, the season guide, the annual report, three sheets and advertisements is also part of the Associate Editor’s responsibilities.
Qualifications: Strong copy-editing and proofreading as well as strong project management skills are required. Musical knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Quark are necessary.
Associate Website Director

We seek an Associate Website Director to manage Carnegie Hall’s growing online operations. The Associate Website Director will oversee a staff of three to insure smooth operation of the Hall’s website, email campaigns, podcasts, online magazine, and other initiatives. The Associate Director will undertake major functional site enhancements, serving as project manager for larger projects, and will also manage the production schedule of deliverables from Carnegie Hall’s operating departments. The Associate Director will work as a key part of teams that include the Marketing and Creative Services department (to insure that Carnegie Hall’s online presence is coordinated with the Hall’s overall presence) and the IT department (to insure website reliability and performance, to manage hardware and software, and to coordinate site monitoring and reporting). Working with the Director of Interactive Services, the Associate Director will help to formulate the strategic growth of online activities, set the department’s agenda, and make decisions about the website’s technology.
Qualifications: 4–6 years web site management and/or project management experience required, as is experience managing people or project teams. Strong writing and communication skills required. Must be able to manage a large volume of requests in a time-critical environment. Knowledge of programming, scripting, and tagging principles (.Net, JavaScript, XML, HTML) required. Familiarity with the Tessitura Arts Enterprise software package and/or the TeamSite Content Management System strongly preferred. Knowledge of cutting edge technology and ability to keep abreast of new developments as they relate to the Hall’s requirements is highly desirable.
Program Coordinator, The Academy

We seek an Program Coordinator for The Academy – a program of Carnegie Hall, The Juilliard School and The Weill Music Institute in partnership with the New York City Department of Education. Responsibilities will include: assisting the Program Manager with managing school partnerships and Teaching Artist groups, coordinating school recruitment, attending school visits, writing school visit reports, coordinating mailings, scheduling meetings, writing meeting minutes, fulfilling school ticket and materials requests from partner schools, maintaining program budget log. Will also be responsible for production aspects of professional development workshops, interactive performances, and classroom activities including contracting of session leaders. Will assist The Academy staff as needed.
Qualifications: Bachelors degree with Arts and/or education administration experience. K-12 teaching experience strongly desired. Strong organizational skills and excellent computer and database management facility. Ability to meet multiple deadlines and to coordinate overlapping activities. Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, if required.
Technical Analyst

Carnegie Hall seeks a Technical Analyst, Information Technology. Reporting to the Manager, Information Technology, will provide technical support to users experiencing software and hardware related problems. Will also assist the Manager, Information Technology with overall system maintenance, troubleshooting and repair, along with maintenance and support of the PBX system. The Technical Analyst is expected to provide after hours support including weekends to the Ticket Operations and Hall Operations departments and is also assigned project-based work on an as-needed basis.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Minimum 3 years work experience in technical support. Must have experience with administration of Windows 2003 Server, Microsoft Exchange Server, and all Microsoft Office products. Additionally, must have experience with TCP/IP networking hardware and software (Cisco experience a plus) cabling infrastructure, firewalls, proxy servers and IIS servers. Strong knowledge of telephony switching systems (Avaya Definity experience a plus) is also required. Ability to work overtime as required. Thorough, detail-oriented and able to work with all levels of staff.

Carnegie Hall seeks interns for Winter/Spring to assist the development department with daily operations including drafting correspondence, prospect research, administrative tasks, and full involvement in and exposure to fundraising at major performing arts institution, with tasks specific to area of focus: Special Events, Individual Giving, Government and Corporate Sponsorship
Activities include:
• Assist with data management. This includes web-based and telephone research of to identify and update contact information; maintaining the prospect management system for focus area; and other miscellaneous tasks
• Assist with special event planning and implementation.
• Administrative office duties such mailing, faxing, filing, etc.
• Assist in grant writing and program development as needed
• Assist in prospect research and cultivation
• Assist with general Departmental projects as needed including Phone duty.
Candidates considering a career in fundraising and/or arts administration are encouraged to apply. Must be able to commit to twenty hours per week. Applicants must have strong writing skills, computer literacy in Microsoft Word and Excel, and excellent communication and organization skills. A meal and transportation stipend is offered.
